Banned!

For some strange reason, Orwell's Picnic and Australian Catholic have banned me from access to their blogs, despite me having advertised them for some time.
Funny old world.

You're not alone Father.

I noticed that Orwell's Picnic switched to "By invitation only". Some bloggers do this to restrict access to their blogs. I expect that Hilary explained this on her blog, but being unable to access it, I can't say...

And in the case of Australia Incognita, the blog has been discontinued, sorry!

Not as much fun as being banned in Boston. BTW, maybe you can help out here. I notice that the propers for St. Damasus have changed from the 1920s. He used to have his own Mass -- but no longer. I'd noticed that it had even changed by 1948.

Where's the place to look for when, exactly, the Mass was changed? Would something like that be a pain to hunt down? I expect it was done by Pius XII, but possibly even his immediate predecessor?

Could you check out my article on same on Bury me Not On The Lone Prairie?

Doesn't this defeat the very point of blogging?

Gem: I haven't really got time just before Christmas to research your enquiry, but this very interesting blog,
http://ordorecitandi.blogspot.com/
would be a good place for you to start.

Thanks for the link, Fr. -- Rubricius helped out on that one too. I'll take a look later today.

I had a busy weekend - a Rorate Mass on Sat, a funeral Mass later, and two Masses (one to check out the Gaudete vestments :-D at the EF parish, and another to assist fr. S at his Mass) [Sunday nights, since "the incident" I've been assisting Fr. S.

Speaking of banning, Father - are you comfortable with a poster who calls themselves "Little Black Sambo"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Black_Sambo

You can see the ebook including illustrations here:
http://www.gutenberg.org/files/17824/17824-h/17824-h.htm

Little Black Sambo’s mother was Mumbo and his father was Jumbo.

I think if you were reading this book to a mixed race or black child you would have to ask yourself a few uncomfortable questions!
