Summorum Pontificum

I have received an email from Someone Who Says He Knows, saying that the freedom accorded by Summorum Pontificum to the Extraordinary Form is indeed under threat, and that the 'clarification' document is about to be signed.

This would be a very good moment to sign that petition, if you have not already done so.

I really don't know what all this is about. SP has, if anything, brought peace to this matter, and caused very little disturbance except in the minds of those who simply don't want us to be allowed it.

It's really quite simple; if you don't like the Extraordinary Form, don't go to it!

In publishing Summorum Pontificum the Holy Father acknowledged that in the past "at critical moments when divisions were coming about, not enough was done by the Church’s leaders to maintain or regain reconciliation and unity". If SP is rolled back it is likely to be because Superiors/Bishops/ Seminary Rectors etc, have failed to promote the TLM to those whose minds and hearts are darkened towards their own Catholic heritage. In this, those Bishops/Superiors etc who have engaged in this failure, allowing negative atitudes to harden then reported to Rome that there is on-going rejection of the TLM among Catholics, seem to me to be contributing to the lacerations of the Mystical Body of Christ.
