Reconciliations

While praying earnestly for the reconciliation of the SSPX, let us also not forget the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer on Papa Stronsay, who, reconciled quite a while ago, are still awaiting a regularization of their situation. Their patience in adversity has been edifying.

Where have you been? I thought you......... quit blogging.
Picked up a used copy of your book "A BOOK OF HOURS" 'and Other Catholic Devotions'.
Any idea of why the delay in regularizing this community? I thought they were very much in tune with what Pope Benedict wants from 'traditional' groups.

The Papa Stronsay Redemptorists are clearly a saintly bunch to endure living in a vacuum. Many of us were hoping that the new Benedictine Bishop of Aberdeen would hasten to regularise them.

Another point. Should the SSPX be themselves regularised I hope they will return to funding and educating their men for the priesthood. They were immediately left in the lurch after their return to the Church's jurisdiction.

Let's stop declaring anyone who 1) faces the slightest adversity, 2) is a witness for the Faith publicly, and/or 3) has dim, vacant eyes as his picture is taken a saint, shall we.

Peep: where on earth did that come from? Who's calling whom a saint?

Maybe it's just another example of ecclesiastical administration's particular ability to combine incompetence and bad faith?

Perhaps it is that regularisation, when done correctly, takes time. Let us not forget that it took 395 years to recognise the constitutions of the Congregation of Jesus (formerly the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary).
I suspect it will be quicker for our brothers on Papa Stronsay.

May God's will be done, may His kingdom come. May the modernists be crushed and the rue faith vindicated.

Father, your post surprised me. I had assumed - incorrectly it appears - that the Papa Stronsay Redemptorists had been regularized. What is yet needed – approval of their ‘Rule’…? Who has got the ball on this?

Given the recent unfortunate events at the Vatican, I fear that even the SSPX resolution will be delayed.
